News - HANSON ROLLS ‘EM PURE

2010/08/23

The proven combination of the Harold Swash Putting methodology and Yes! Golf C-Groove Putters has delivered another Tour winner, as Peter Hanson unflinchingly holed an 18-foot putt in the 2nd playoff hole at the Czech Open to earn his 2nd Tour win of the 2010 season (4th in career).

Yes! Golf has been the most voluble putter brand by far to carry forward the message that putting is the key to better golf for players at all levels. The vested commercial interest is obvious, due to the fact that putting is all Yes! Golf does; putters and putting accessories make up its sole stream of revenue. But as a global authority on the science of putting, whenever Yes! Golf works alongside Harold Swash Putting instructors it’s a partnership that’s pretty much unbeatable.

Peter Hanson himself adopted his current winning approach to putting in a kind of sideways manner. He first picked up a Mollie putter from Phil Kenyon (Yes! Tour Rep and Harold Swash Director of Instruction) at the BMW in Munich at the end of June, but returned it at the Alstom Open in France the following week apparently feeling it wasn’t the flatstick for him (and this, despite David Horsey having won the BMW event so convincingly with a bogey-free final round of 67 using his own Yes! Callie Putter).

The 3rd week in July, meanwhile, saw the Tour at the Nordea Scandinavian Masters in Stockholm, Hanson’s home turf and also the backyard of one of Harold Swash’s foremost Scandinavian instructors Jonas Wulker. As the result of a practice green chat Wulker had with Peter Hanson, the Swedish pro hefted the Mollie once again, as the consensus among Hanson’s coaches and advisors was that the toe-weighting of the Yes! Putter was an ideal counterbalance to the golfer’s closed putter face at impact.

Hanson started using the Mollie again at practice and immediately was rewarded with better ball roll and the putter face square at impact.

Just a week or so prior to the Czech Open, Hanson had spent time working with Wulker at his  putting studio in Sweden (Blixtorps Golfbana)in a serious push to get his putting back on track.

“We did a lot of work on Peter’s posture, which is now much stronger and favours a little more weight on his left side” explains Wulker. “His confidence at putts of 3 metres and under is incomparably better than it was before.  We’re very hopeful for him getting a Ryder Cup team place. If he does then we’ll be very busy in the weeks ahead working on his greens play.”

About Mollie

The Mollie is another classic blade putter enhanced by Yes! Golf's C-Grooves technology and multi-material head construction. With a straight hosel like her sister Morgan, the golfer’s view is perfectly clear down to top of the blade with its elliptic back and single white sight line. The head combines a tungsten back with a stainless steel body and an aluminium face.

The synergy of the light, aluminium face and extremely heavy back perimeter maximizes the moment of inertia, stabilizing the face at impact, resulting in more control and consistency.

Experts at the PGA Show in Orlando last January gave the new series of Yes! Golf MOI Putters the accolade of ‘Best of Show – 2010’ at their launch. In addition, the short-fused judges at golfwrx.com went one stage further on their web review (http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/topic/356269-best-of-pga-show-10-putters/page__p__2333187&#entry2333187?s=501cc84452277ef4140f83582a2cbf14 ) and said the already impressive photos simply don’t do the actual flatsticks justice in terms of feel.
