 The new satin-finish wedges from Yes! Golf are more than just a series of pretty faces (…heels, soles, hosels etc.). Fully compliant with current R&A rulings on wedge face grooves, the latest wedges are fully compliant for the amateur game until 2024.
The 2010 Wedges are a very different beast from the first ‘Bill’ Wedges introduced in 2008. Yes! launched them in the UK, Australia and Korea only, but in the intervening months the popularity of the wedges has seen them on sale throughout the EU and other parts of the Middle and Far East too. It is generally only in the markets where Yes! Putters enjoy a sufficiently robust market share for putters that the company felt it could afford to introduce a short-game club. All wedges produced after 2010 will be machined with the new ruling grooves, so already, these Yes! Wedges are very special clubs to own.
Also, for the first time, the wedges feature various bounce options.
The bounce of the wedges is dictated by the mass of the bulge at the sole of the wedge where the club sits on the ground. Generally a higher bounce (12 or 13 degrees) is preferred for working in sand or lush, soft fairways; whereas a lower bounce (e.g. 7 degrees) is better for hitting out of tight lies or coarser rough.
