News - YES! GOLF PATENTED SHAFT WEIGHTING SYSTEM ON A ROLL IN GENEVA

2009/08/13

13th August 2009 - English Yes! Golfer Rob Coles led for most of the first round in the Trophée du Golf de Genève in Switzerland

Coles posted an 8 under score of 64 in the morning with six birdies on the front 9 and a further three over the last four holes.

"I'm very pleased with eight under. I struggled a bit on the second. I came up short of the green and had to make a good up and down but from then on it was okay. I putted well from short range and I holed a putt from about 20ft on the ninth."

Coles needs one more Challenge Tour victory to gain automatic exemption on The European Tour for the rest of this season and next, having already had two wins this year, at the Moroccan Classic by and the Challenge of Ireland at Moyvalley in Ireland on 14th June.

Rob has been among the first Tour golfers to take advantage of the vSWS shaft weighting system pioneered by Yes! Golf (Europe) last year - technology that won the top honour at Golf Europe 2008 and remains the only innovation of its kind in the world.

vSWS is a patented weighting re-distribution mechanism deployed within the putter shaft. The design objective is to connect the golfer to the putter in a more visceral way than has ever been possible.

By inserting a fixed weight at a specific point in the shaft the system helps smoothen the golfer's acceleration profile in the down swing, producing greater distance control, touch and feel. At the same time, with a superior connection to the putter head the golfer can better control the consistency and the speed of the ball roll and hence the distance, as well as ensure the ball takes the correct break on the greens.
