A spate of wins on the PGA EuroPro Tour for Yes! Golf has underlined once again the outstanding business and sporting synergy between Yes! and the game's hottest emerging talent.
The first among the recent winning streak was Scott Jamieson at Princes in Kent in early June - using one of the new Dawn putters. Scott began the 2009 season with a custom-fitting and freshening-up at Yes! Golf HQ in Southport with Andy Sumner.
James Busby won at Burhill Golf Club in Walton-on-Thames on 1st August using a Callie-f to help him slot six authoritative birdies for a five under par 67 and a £10,000 prize.
Then Graeme Clark won at The Marriott Tudor Park on the 6th August with a Valerie which he also had custom-fitted at Southport.
On top of that, to beat the hat-trick, Scott Jamieson won yet again at the ABC Solutions UK Championship at Wychwood Park in Crewe, setting a new course record in the process on day 2 with 65, and shooting him to the top of the Order of Merit.
"It isn't that long ago I was a kid playing at county level and I recall how any real and tangible help in achieving my pro sporting goals was so hard to find," explains Yes! Golf UK boss Peter Allison. "And so Yes! Golf's commitment to the EuroPro Tour is just as important and just as rewarding for us as our European Tour commitments in my opinion.
"I won't deny we love seeing the Yes! name enjoy its position alongside the club brands that are 20 times our size on the European Tour stage," he continues. "But there is a real adrenaline rush I get seeing these aspiring players playing so well and making it look effortless. Our contribution to their efforts is quite small but it's a privilege nonetheless."
The Dawn Putter
The "ultimate putter for the purist", Dawn is precision manufactured with the best players in the world in mind. A 100% CNC-milled cavity-back blade made from the finest 303 forged stainless steel, this is a classically-shaped toe-down putter with a head weight of 345 grams and features a plumber neck hosel with three different sight alignment options: dot on the topline, sight line in cavity and no line. Dawn comes in a standard lie of 72 degrees, loft of 2.5 degrees and shaft lengths of 32-37 inches (in right-hand version only). She connects to the player via a stock Iomic brand grip.
In the words of Blair Philip, YES! Golf's director of research and development, "From the materials to the shape to the finish to the grip, it is the best the industry has to offer in our opinion."
The classic Anser-style head shape was chosen for its track record of success. They then picked the highest quality components in the world to match the quality of the head that was produced. Yes! Golf briefed their manufacturing partners to produce perfect parts every time, to unusually tight tolerances.
God is in the detail with Dawn. Even the degree of toe hang was painstakingly researched and matched to what the best blade user wants.
Considerable research was invested in determining the ideal combination of putter loft and sole draft, which is the angle of the bottom edge of the face to the rear of the sole. Depending on the loft of a putter, the sole draft can make a putter appear to be (or actually be) open or closed at address. The geometry of the Dawn, however, allows the putter to sit squarely on the green surface. |
